The grandeur of cascading water continues to beguile millions who visit the numerous waterfalls that are found on earth. A waterfall is a natural wonder. Waterfalls are not meant to be ugly. Each one of the thousands of waterfalls scattered across the world is supposed to be stunning. However some are more equal than others.
It's difficult to put together the best Waterfalls List since it's completely subjective. However based on our own personal experiences we have picked the five best Waterfalls in the world.
Niagara Falls
The very mention of waterfall brings to the mind the name of Niagara Falls, one of the most famous attractions in the world. Located on the Niagara River, this gigantic waterfall is situated in the borders of Canada and US, separating the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. Divided into two parts, the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls is a group of waterfalls.
Victoria Falls
A UNESCO World Heritage site, Victoria Falls is rightly considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Straddling the western border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Victoria Falls will leave you awestruck.
Iguazu Falls
The word “Awesome" is easy to throw around, but Iguazú Falls has a real claim on it. This skyscraping waterfall with a towering drop of 70m (229 ft.) into a giant gorge is worth the detour on any trip to Argentina.
Angel Falls
Angel Falls, the world’s highest waterfall at 979 m (3,212 ft), plunges uninterrupted for 807m. Located in the Canaima National Park in Venezuela, the awe-striking Angel Falls will make a lasting impression to your mind.
Gullfoss
Gullfoss is the largest waterfall in Europe, and widely acknowledged as the most beautiful in Iceland. In contrast to many North American cascades, Gullfoss remains to this day untouched by man, and allowing visitors to actually walk right up to the edge and run one's hand in the water.
